The ODFS dropped foot stimulator device electrically stimulates the common peroneal nerve in order to contract the appropriate muscles in individuals who have lost the ability to dorsiflex their foot following neurological injury.
How does ODFS Dropped Foot Stimulator Work?
A small foot switch fits easily into almost any normal shoe. (You do not need special shoes for dropped foot with ODFS.) One small cable worn discreetly under your clothing connects the foot switch to the ODFS control box. Two small electrodes are placed over the muscles that control foot lifting, just below your knee. The ODFS control box is programmed by your doctor or therapist for your specific walking needs.
